Paul Von Hindenburg was a high ranking German military officer obtaining the rank of fieldmarshal and a politician. Paul Von Hindenburg was born in 1847 and died in 1934 as president of Germany.

It widely agreed that due to his weakness in the political theatre gave the opportunity for the rise of Nazis and Hitler . Hindenburg was a key player in the army and just before the outset of ww1. He obtained success on the battlefield which brought huge admiration and popularity .

After the war he left the army to retire. Due to his popularity , he returned back to the limelight . At the age of 75 he became the president of Germany. It was an extremely troubling time and instability was rife within the Weimar government.
