The battle of France started on 10th of May 1940. The Germans used a blitzkrieg approach. The Germans also invaded Belgium and Netherlands at the same time. Battle of France lasted only 6 weeks.
The French had over 300000 dead or wounded. The German air superiority proved vital. The Germans had tried make peace with France. It was rejected. Allied nations knew Germany would invade.
The Germans had nearly 3 million ready plus others in reserve. The German land forces success was quick. The speed of the German panzers and efficiency enabled success. They also had great supply lines.
The ground forces had a specific role. The French had more tanks and land guns. The Luftwaffe had 3000 planes in action. It was very advanced.
